Welcome to my yearly summer retreat.
Lake Hjorten is a beautiful place to restore yourself; its stillness supports both introspection and tranquillity. But it is also a place for connection — a place where people meet, form lifelong friendships, and feel free to be themselves while sharing a genuine interest in practice.
During the weekend, we’ll explore how yoga and philosophical inquiry can support us in daily life, and how these practices help us move toward a greater sense of balance and inner clarity.
Yoga Practice
Our morning classes starts with meditation followed by a theme-based asana class. The class will be well-rounded, and we will work toward a peak pose. The asana practice is taught in such a way that you will learn to practice according to your own body and while building your practice through intelligent and safe sequencing.
The afternoon class will be designed according to what I have observed during the morning session. We will apply a therapeutic approach to asana and have a softer practice or work in pairs to gain a greater understanding of our own body and needs.
In the evening before going to bed we end the day with some group reflection and meditation.
Philosophy
The theme of our discussions during the retreat is finding balance. Studying philosophy helps us think clearly and seek new and better answers to problems. During the philosophy discussions, we will explore our mind’s conditioning and question our beliefs so that we may move closer to what is our own truth.
