The Craft of Teaching Yoga

A Mentorship in Asana, Sequencing & Pedagogy

This 10-week mentorship is more than a training — it’s a space for honest reflection, personal growth, and professional evolution.

Designed for yoga teachers who are ready to take the next step, this program supports you in refining your teaching skills, strengthening your class structure and sequencing, and finding greater confidence in your voice.

You’ll cultivate clarity in how you guide others, alignment in your decisions as a teacher, and a steadier sense of direction — both on and off the mat.

Yoga Retreat March 22-24, 2024

Why Continue Studying?

Teaching yoga is a lifelong learning process. We often step into the role of teacher with passion, but without ongoing support, it’s easy to feel isolated, unsure, or stuck. This mentorship gives you a grounded framework for deepening your knowledge, refining your teaching skills, and staying connected to your own practice.

Through a combination of live seminars, personal mentorship, and community connection, you will:

  • Receive professional feedback on your teaching, sequences or class structure.
  • Deepen your understanding of yoga – not just asana, but the full living practice.
  • Build confidence in your own voice and choices as a teacher.
  • Reignite your inspiration through guided classes and peer reflection.
  • Feel supported – within a small, dedicated group where your process is seen and valued.

Whether you’re looking to grow as a teacher, reconnect with your practice, or simply need a space to reflect and evolve, this program meets you where you are.

FAQ

Is this program only for experienced teachers?

Not at all. This mentorship is open to anyone who has completed a 200h teacher training – whether you’re newly certified or have been teaching for years. The program meets you where you are, and the small group format ensures that you’ll receive support relevant to your own teaching journey.

What’s the difference between the online and studio mentorship?

The content is the same in both formats, but the Studio Mentorship includes five in-person sessions at the studio. These offer hands-on teaching labs, live classes, and shared reflection. If you’re based nearby or want to travel in, this option gives you more face-to-face connection. If not, the Online Mentorship is a beautiful, complete experience on its own.

I don’t feel confident teaching yet. Will I fit in?

Yes. This is a space for building confidence – not a place where you need to arrive already sure of yourself. We explore both the outer tools (sequencing, cues, voice) and the inner process of becoming more grounded and authentic as a teacher.

What if I can’t attend every live session?

All live seminars and yoga classes are recorded and shared with participants, so you can revisit them at your own pace. The mentorship is designed to support your life rhythm, not add stress to it.

Can I use the mentorship sessions for private yoga instead?

Absolutely. Your two 45-minute mentorship sessions are yours to shape. You can use them for feedback on your teaching, but also for personal guidance or a tailored yoga practice.

How much time should I set aside each month?

Around 6-10 hours/month. This includes the live seminar, one pre-recorded lecture, a morning class or two, and time for reflection or self-study.

Is there any homework or assignments?

No formal assignments – just invitations to reflect, explore, or submit materials for feedback if you wish. Everything is optional and offered to support your own process.

What kind of feedback do I receive?

You can submit sequences, teaching notes, or short class videos for personal feedback. The tone is always constructive, supportive, and aimed at helping you grow into your unique expression as a teacher.

Can I connect with other participants?

Yes. There’s an online space for the group where you can share reflections, questions, or inspiration. Many participants find community and connection to be one of the most valuable parts of the program.

I’m still not sure if it’s the right fit. Can I talk to someone before signing up?

Of course. You’re welcome to reach out with questions, thoughts or to book a short call to feel into whether this is the right next step for you. Just email: hello@carolinewestling.com
